In January I participated in my first ever Global Game Jam in Valencia, Spain. My university, Universal Arts School , gave us the opportunity to participate in a smaller scale one with only my fellow students; this made me want to participate in an official The Global Game Jam event. It was an amazing experience where I got to meet and be a part of a wonderful team, called "Once Designless", and work on an actual videogame, officially called "GLUP!" (Inspired by this year’s theme “Bubble”). As a 2D artist I was able to create various props and environments; learning new techniques and skills along the way. The game follows a little mouse called Manchego, who on his way to his wedding, got trapped on the sewers and now has to find a way to escape. The game still has some kinks that need to be worked out but as soon as it's ready, I'll post the trailer. Lastly it was a very enriching experience and I hope to participate in more events like this in the future. “GLUP!" logo design by: Lucía Ramos Folgueiras Mouse "Manchego" character design by: Paula Bonafont Castells
